How to look after your Elite Truck
Less Downtime, More Business Success!
You know we’ve got your back when it comes to truck repairs and spares! In fact, over and above general maintenance, we provide our full maintenance leasing clients with free replacement vehicles in the event of a breakdown. Now, that’s what we call Elite service!
Of course, no matter how smooth the repairs and replacements might be, truck breakdowns are hardly ideal and still have an impact on your business. So, how can you do MORE to limit breakdowns and help team Elite to keep your truck moving?
#1 Look after your tyres
Correct air pressure in a tyre helps to distribute the weight of your vehicle evenly across the tyre’s tread pattern. When a tyre is over- or under-inflated, it loses stability which negatively affects handling, cornering and stopping… and ultimately leads to burst tyres and downtime.
#2 Try to prevent theft
A lot of breakdowns and downtime is caused by theft. Battery theft can be prevented by removing the batteries when the vehicles are parked for extended periods, and wheel nut locks can be used to mitigate tyre theft – plus, you only need one for each wheel!
#3 Hire qualified drivers
Often trucks are put through the ringer by bad drivers who are unaware of their surroundings. This leads to costly accidents and mistakes on the road, which in turn causes vehicle downtime. Make sure you vet your drivers and put them through a test or two to ensure that they’re up for the job.
