March 2021

If there is one thing we’ve learned during our time in the transportation industry, it’s that you can never know enough about the products that you’re shipping – it’s a learning journey. This is especially true of the pharmaceutical industry, where every piece of fine print matters. For instance, did you know that the active chemicals in medicine can change in molecular form when exposed to different temperatures, and that this can impact the efficacy of the medicine? Now, if we didn’t know this, we wouldn’t know to keep a very careful eye on that temperature gauge inside our refrigerated trucks.

At Elite Truck Hire, we have a fleet of over 240 refrigerated trucks, ranging from 1 to 8 ton, that are ideal for transporting essential medical supplies to pharmacies, doctor’s offices, hospitals and clinics. This is a job we take very seriously, and we always ensure that we meet all legislation from the Medicines and Related Substances Control Act 101 of 1965, Section 35A(b)(ii) of the Pharmacy act 53 of 1994 to the World health organization (WHO) guidelines of Frozen -20°C to ambient conditions 25°C and all in-between. As part of our full maintenance lease offering, we provide you with a one-stop solution, ensuring that these trucks are regularly serviced, tyres checked, and licences up to date. Because when it comes to shaving valuable seconds off the clock, we understand that these little things count.

Needless to say, when the pandemic broke out, we instantly stepped up to the plate to be of service to our medical clients, transporting essential supplies across the country to save lives. But our work is never done, and we will continue to take the greatest of care when shipping your pharmaceutical products…ensuring that every vial of fluid and every bottle of pills saves the life it was intended for.
